Stop 14 of 14
March 21
Moving day. The family found a dump spot on the other side of town, then met the Arrant-Teeters and Toles for brunch at Pantry Dos before hitting the road. A charge stop in Taos kept the EV topped up, and from there it was north into Colorado—straight highway, snowy peaks ahead, and Alamosa waiting at the end of the day.

March 22
Great Sand Dunes National Park filled the whole day. Everyone sledded the hills, and Pepper loved chasing the family down the slopes. Cal and Bethan hiked up toward one of the higher dunes and came down on an epic slide that looked almost as steep as it felt.

Zapata Falls
Afterward, Zapata Falls was the quiet opposite of the dunes: a short walk into a canyon where the waterfall had frozen into a solid ice wall. Completely frozen. Incredible day.

Back at the trailer, the family packed for Florida and sorted through all the winter clothes. Dinner was garlic pork loin with a Caesar salad.
March 23
Moving day again. The family left Alamosa and headed for Colorado Springs to drop off the trailer for warranty work, Pepper at Camp Bow Wow, and the Silverado for its 7,500-mile checkup. After all the logistics, the kids got time on a raft, and dinner was Papa John’s—simple and exactly right for a day that was mostly drop-offs.
